General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. Start to finish - this was a dining masterpiece. Thoughtfully curated custom cocktails as we didn’t like anything on the list, beautifully paced courses, the seafood was phenomenal. Definitely get the hamachi and sea bream and get the brioche to soak up all the sauce.

We had a wonderful dinner at Osteria Giulia. The staff were warm and attentive. The atmosphere was perfectly balanced—cozy and inviting, with soft, warm lighting and candles on each table creating an intimate vibe. The clean, minimalist design added a modern and polished touch without feeling overly formal. The food was excellent. We tried the veal carpaccio, seafood pasta, and rack of lamb. The veal was tender and paired beautifully with the fried capers. The seafood pasta was perfectly cooked, and the lamb was flavorful and cooked just right. Osteria Giulia is a place I’d happily return to—it’s a great spot for a memorable meal.
