French Quarter Bistro was opened in 2018 in the heart of Frenchtown by Ed and Amoi Foerstel due to their love of all cuisine, Cajun. Creole is derived from the many cultures who have settled in New Orleans, including; French, Spanish, West African, Caribbean, German, Italian, and Irish. Cajun is derived from the French-speaking Acadians who settled in the bayous south of New Orleans. The influences of the French are the most prominent of both cuisines. Almost all of our Creole and Cajun dishes begin with a stock (poultry, beef, or seafood), trinity (onions, green bell peppers, celery), and a roux (blonde, brown, or dark), lending a unique flavor to our Gumbo and other dishes. The best restaurant on St Thomas. We eat here at least twice when staying for a week. It’s Italian, but all the food is great. It is one of the few upscale places, so dress up and enjoy. However, it’s St Thomas so T-Shirt and sandals work too.

Great experience from seating through dessert. We had an attentive waitress, both food and wine menus were extensive and we appreciated the views and general ambience. Highly recommend.

This restaurant serves only 7, 9 and 11 tasting menues. I chose the 9 tasting menu ($111). With 1 martini, 2 glasses of chardonnay, 1 glass of coke and tip, the total bill for one person was $206!!! Every one of the 9 tiny tastings was outstanding. The sauces were incredibly delicious.

Once again, the staff, food and entire experience was amazing at Cutlass and Cane. Came in for Christmas Eve dinner and had Umberto again for our waiter. He was just as great as the last time making us feel welcomed and very happy with our choice. Heather, the GM checked on us and chatted for a bit and definitely added to the wonderful evening.
