For almost 30 years now we've called Sunnyvale home, serving up traditional Italian dishes all made from scratch right here in house. We love seeing the look of delight on a guest's faces when they take that first bite, and it's hard not to smile when you're enjoying some gumbalicious pasta or a slice of hot, fresh pizza. It's our commitment to our guests to keep things interesting, innovative, wholesome and thoughtfully sourced. That's why we've formalized our relationship with the Monterey Bay Seafood Aquarium's Seafood Watch, James Beard Foundation's Smart Catch and the Surfrider Foundation by becoming a partner and bringing on a director of sustainability to help steward these efforts. In 1959, Frank and Tina D'Ambrosio decided to start a new restaurant venture along with their "Paisans" Mario and Enza Volpe, after Frank had much success with his first restaurant, the original "Frankie, Johnnie, and Luigi Too! In Mountain View, CA. Named after a good friend of theirs, they opened the original "Giorgio's" in the Foxworthy Shopping Center in San Jose, CA. One year later, cousins Anthony and Louise Dambruoso, affectionately known to the family as "Sash and Lou", took control of the restaurant and ran it for the next eight years. Pictures and paintings of these folks still grace the walls of the establishment today. In 1968, Frank's four sons assumed control of the restaurant and still own and operate it to this day. In 1997 they opened a second location in Milpitas, CA, in 2023 another in Morgan Hill and now back in Mountain View, where they still offer the highest standard of quality food, service, and value to their customers.     Still a great place to have lunch. They're not afraid to use the herbs and spices necessary to prepare authentic greet dishes. The domades are the best around stuffed with oregano seasoned meat and rice. The chicken souvlaki was tender moist and delicious.

    The Oxford Pub was the proverbially "needle in the haystack!" WHAT A FIND!!! My guest and I were fortunate to sit outside on a sunny afternoon and now that Murphy Street has been closed to traffic and turned into a pedestrian walkway, even made it more delightful! I was looking for something different and found it! More surprising was the twists in flavor, ingredients and presentation on common dishes such as fried calamari strips, beef stroganoff bowl and tri-tip sandwiches. Fresh, hot, tasty and to top it off a great selection of beers to accompany the food. I tried their "seasonal roundtable' and was served a bourbon-barrel stout that blew my mind and tastebuds! In short, if you are tired of the "same o - same-o" for menu items, I invite you to sample what is on The Oxford Pub's menu for a welcomed surprise!! YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!
