An AA rated pub restaurant first built in the 1930s, The Foresters has a strong local fanbase and is a real favourite for relaxed celebration dining and those special nights out. A beautiful statuesque building with row upon row of immaculately clean windows, well kept plants lining the entrance and, during the summer at least, a good number of parasol shaded terrace tables, The Foresters beautiful exterior leads in to a bright and modern bar and dining room. With the interior bridging the gap between cosy old world and strikingly contemporary gives The Foresters a broad appeal – family friendly but popular with couples of all ages too. Not only highly recommended for its wide selection of beers, real ales and wines but for its regularly changing menu of gastropub style food mostly influenced by traditionally British flavours and local, seasonal produce. Welcome to The Greyhound, a 17th century coaching inn, in the heart of Beaconsfield Old Town.Owned and managed by husband and wife team, Daniel Crump and Margriet Vandezande-Crump, the pub and restaurant was named as the ‘One to Watch in the UK’s prestigious Top 50 Gastropubs Awards, named a TripAdvisor 2021 Travellers’ Choice Award Winner, and voted the best restaurant in Bucks & Oxon by guests in the annual Muddy Stilettos awards. The Greyhound is made up of 3 key areas for guests to enjoy: an intimate drinking lounge and outside drinking terrace, the main restaurant for dining (upstairs and downstairs), and an outdoor covered and heated dining terrace. We had a wonderful meal for my father’s 85th birthday. He throughly enjoyed his lunch plus the special extra touches that made his day special. One of the highlights was the ‘scone’ with Jam and cream. My parents - both Cornish (born there and now live there!) raised some debate and laughter! Staff are attentive and the food was delicious.

A first visit and enjoyed the whole experience. A friendly welcome and coats quickly dealt with, taken to a relaxing bar area upstairs. When we sat at our table, service, food and wine were excellent. Atmosphere and temperature (on a cold evening outside) were perfect. It’s an expensive night especially if drinking a lot - we will return.

Had a roast dinner here several times and everything on the plate is always cooked to perfection! The roast meats are really good quality cuts and very tender. All served up with fresh Yorkshire puddings, veggies and generous gravy on the side.
