Within a beautiful Subiaco heritage building, a new neighbourhood wine bar has entered the scene on Hay Street. In the 1920s, the building was home to a provisions merchant owned by husband and wife Emily and Charles Lums. Their shop, EA Lums & Co, was a place for locals to grab quality ingredients from a family-owned shop. With the appointment of Nick Young as Head Chef, Lums offers a brand new, vino-friendly food offering.Nick’s resume boasts a wonderful mix of fine dining and funky neighbourhood eateries including Wildflower, Must, Bivouac and Lallah Rookh. With extensive time spent working in rural luxury resorts and Margaret River wineries, Nick brings a passion for fresh, local produce, heirloom varieties, preserving and fermentation.

Chef Tom Bidios found himself lost in the Deep South of Northern America whilst travelling and there discovered his passion for the soulful food that is at its core. A cuisine that’s yet to be fully explored in Perth but is soulful, homely and undeniable delicious. Expect to not only experience things more familiar like Oysters, Wood fired meat, fried chicken & croquette’s … because that is just the beginning. Prawn & pimento grits with crispy pigs ears, devilled egg hash brown, Biscuit’s, braised green & fried green tomatoes, that is the Lo experience that will transport you for a few short hours to somewhere south. A back bar with some of the best whisky’s on offer and a small but curated cocktail & wine list to perfectly compliment the occasion. We encourage you to start your night at the bar, let the bartenders take you on a journey of how Lo become and all the things we do that make it great. Lo’ was a breath of fresh air and sits perfectly between fine dining and a quality pub meal. The value vs. the quality was really great. I will say the cocktail menu outshined the food menu, that is saying something because Al l the food dishes we tried were fantastic.

Wow, the food and presentation of the dishes was outstanding. We loved everything we tasted - oysters, scallops, A5 Waygu, croquettes - All were so delicious. Cocktails were great too.
