We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Feel the comforting rumble of trains passing overhead conjuring memories of some of our favourite haunts underneath the bridges in NYC - a place where, with the blinds rolled down and away from prying eyes, a decadent lunch can swiftly roll into dinner.

Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

It was absolutely amazing for our Christmas party night. The place was very inviting.All the waiters and waitresses was so nice and helpful. The food was really delicious. May I take this opportunity to thank Billy wholeheartedly for making this night so special and memorable for us all. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you all at Miona. Decore, tasteful and welcoming. Table and chairs comfortable. All perfectly clean. Good food well presented but also fullsome. All three coursed faultless. We took a chance booking a table without being there before, but knew as we walked in the door that all would be well and do it proved. Can recommend The New Boar with confidence.

Finally managed to get a table at Blacklock and it was absolutely worth the effort. Definitely one of the best, if not the best, steak and burgers we've had in London. Bone marrow was incredible. Cheesecake was heavenly! Service and ambience were energetic and attentive. Definitely will be back!

Lovely experience, food was good. Service was mostly great aside from the fact that our order "didn't go through" so we waited longer for our food than we should have. But aside from that, the overall experience was nice.
