Lavergne’s Tavern opened in June, 2016 at the corner of Windsor and East Avenues in the old Garv’s Inn location, a staple in Berwyn since the ’60s. The tin ceiling and hardwood floors are restored, and the storied Garv’s Inn bar is rebuilt from scratch using reclaimed black walnut. We have had dinner at Eden and enjoyed it. Checked out the brunch menu on line and there was a lot there to choose from. Friendly and professional staff, our server was fun. Coffee and tea were great. Between the tree of us we did the avocado toast, breakfast sandwich and farmed omelet plus a fruit cup. Their fruit cup should not be missed, variety, presentation, size and inclusion of mint leaves, a real winner. All the main dishes were strong offerings. Add a nice bright room and tons of parking, no wonder why it was nearly full when we finished up.

The food is great!! The entertainment is great!! The service is great!! I come here for my birthday, my father-in-law's birthday, my sister's birthday, Father's Day- place is full most of the time, which is a good indicator of quality & service. Very kid-friendly as well- I am never disappointed at Edelweiss- Gemutlichkeit in abundance!!

It was perfect. A cold night, and not crowded in the restaurant. Our server (new to us) was very good. I wish I could remember his name (hair pulled back, earrings). We ordered the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer. We do not like the bacon on it and the kitchen made it for us without that. It is so good. We both ordered the mushroom & cheese gnocchi. We'd never had it before and it did not disappoint. It is an excellent addition to the menu. I usually get the Moroccan beef which is superb. Again, the gnocchi was exactly perfect. Just a lovely evening.
