Humo [oo-moh], is a modern firehouse situated in the heart of Watford, serving Spanish inspired meat, seafood, fish, and seasonal vegetables cooked in a charcoal and wood oven. The furnace reaches temperatures of over 300 degrees Celsius so the produce is seared and smoked in seconds, making sure the flavour sings on your palate, and not on the plate.The restaurant boasts a beautiful, seated island bar, a peephole into the working kitchen and covers for over 100 guests. Villa di Geggiano has for more than five centuries, been renowned for hospitality and generosity as well as delicious food and sumptuous wines. Located at the heart of Tuscany, it has a history of exporting mouth-watering wines to England, having been possibly the very first to bring Chianti here in 1725. The menu features true Tuscan cuisine, with many of the ingredients being imported especially from the Villa and surrounding farms. Prepared with passion by a hand-picked crew, these maestros employ traditional techniques to recreate the essence of Siena. Waitress was super helpful and friendly but the whole experience felt a bit cramped - the tables next to us were really close and there wasn’t much room for all the dishes they had brought out. The restaurant also smelt strongly of cigarette smoke.

Our first experience at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. It came highly recommended from friends who were here a month earlier. Food was superb, the staff were very attentive and there was a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended 5*

Had a great time here. Would’ve been nice to hear a few more Christmas songs from the DJ (who was excellent!!) and Prosecco topped up more frequently. Otherwise, a great afternoon . Will be back!

The wife and I went for a mid-week date night and had a lovely time at Humo. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the decor and overall aesthetic was very cool and most importantly the food was delicious. It’s a great asset to Watford high street.
