When we started Big Top Brewing Company, there were no craft breweries in the Sarasota area and we set out to fix that. We wanted to compliment Sarasota’s historical associations with The Ringling Circus, performing arts, great architecture, the best art and design schools and world renown tourism. The best way we could do that was to craft beer that our home town can be proud of. We plan to continue the tradition of the arts and help Sarasota add beer town to its identity. Café Gabbiano located on Siesta Key was originated by the Migliaccio family in 2003 where is four sons grew in and out of the restaurant business.A second venture in downtown Sarasota was opened and designed by Pietro in 2012 named Casantica, a small old house converted to a quaint homey restaurant.     Surprisingly good food. Nice selection of enjoyable beers. We arrived at 5:30 on a Monday evening and were surprised to find the place very crowded (great sign). Once the food and drinks started to arrive we understood why. From the pretzel to the salad to the wings, the starters were very good. Burger and pizzas, delicious. Thanks for an enjoyable evening out with visiting family.

    We had such a lovely time! The food was excellent, the drinks were fantastic, and the service was truly top-notch. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I ordered a creamy vegetarian dish, and it was absolutely amazing! Our group of seven each ordered something different, and everyone loved their meals. The desserts were just as impressive, rounding out a perfect dining experience. Our server deserves 5+ stars for their outstanding attention and service! Highly recommend this place!

    The food at Pietro's is always so delicious that we keep returning time after time and year after year. The daily specials offer an interesting variety of options...LOVE all of the pasta dishes! Wine selection is terrific and the staff are always willing to give recommendations . The new location is a bit small, but very cozy. The owners, Pietro and Susan, are wonderful humans. Kudos to all of the staff: EVO, Wendy, Johanna, and Alejandro! A must go to in Sarasota!
