Cooking over a central grill makes for great theatrical cooking from our open-plan kitchen, overseen by Head Chef Nick Galer. Whilst a subtle Basque feel will permeate throughout, its roots are firmly founded on those of a classic English pub – so while featuring top end Basque dishes fit for a destination dinner, it also offers simple pub snacks for a light lunch… while the food may be inspired by the Basque country, the ingredients are local… and while the wines may be sourced from Iberia, the beer is very much English.The crowning glory is the sensational open kitchen, with a huge, CHARCOAL FIRED parilla grill and a BRICK OVEN as its centrepiece and all in front of the guests – very visual and very theatrical. We are also dog friendly.Orwells offers a choice of Al a carte, Wednesday - Sunday alongside a Tasting menu.The Lunch menu runs from Wednesday to Sunday, its £45 for 2 courses and £55 for three courses. I like this pub for lunch. Today was a meet up with a relative. Service was good and the food excellent. I always book as the pub gets busy at lunch time.

The Denver steak was exceptional! The butternut squash soup with the leek butter on the bread was also delicious. Would definitely recommend.
