Our Head Chef Mo ensures that the kitchen consistently delivers exceptional dishes, using the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. And, of course, our Sunday Roast is a must-try. Choose from four delicious roasts, each served with all the traditional trimmings. Not to forget, we offer a kids menu with delicious options for our younger guests. We also offer vegetarian and gluten-free options to suit different dietary needs. When it comes to desserts, we have something for everyone. A rural public house serving local beers, Berkshire gin and ciders, as well as a great wine selection. Bar snacks and full meals available 7 days a week. Cooking over a central grill makes for great theatrical cooking from our open-plan kitchen, overseen by Head Chef Nick Galer. Whilst a subtle Basque feel will permeate throughout, its roots are firmly founded on those of a classic English pub – so while featuring top end Basque dishes fit for a destination dinner, it also offers simple pub snacks for a light lunch… while the food may be inspired by the Basque country, the ingredients are local… and while the wines may be sourced from Iberia, the beer is very much English.The crowning glory is the sensational open kitchen, with a huge, CHARCOAL FIRED parilla grill and a BRICK OVEN as its centrepiece and all in front of the guests – very visual and very theatrical.     Odd one this . On arrival surprisingly quiet for valentine’s evening . Place looks run down and definitely needs a make over . Food was clean & well presented so obviously the chef knows what he’s doing . Young team whilst not skilled made up for it with lots of smiles & quick service . Definitely would return for the food alone but please clean the place up .

    Last minute booking and a charming pub, limited menu but cooked to order and fresh. Mains and puddings were very good portions. Fish and chips and the burgers just felt slightly limited in flavour and seasoning which holds it back from five stars. Two adults, two teens and an under five. £156 including the tip and a drink each

    Very welcoming team, nice atmosphere with lots of full tables even though it was a Weds lunchtime. The lunch set menu had plenty of variety- my friend had haggis to start, I had the delicious gravlax and we both had an enormous plateful of osso buco which was tender and very tasty. We opted for a bottle of the Baussac which was recommended on the menu and enjoyed it very much. Just the right amount of attention from the team throughout. We had a really lovely time - great food, very nice surroundings, we will be back! Highly recommended.

    Fantastic meal with the best steak I’ve ever had, waiter was helpful and made excellent recommendations, food was fresh and plenty of choices on menu. Service was great and only thing is the venue when full is very noisy so was a bit hard to hear each other without talking louder! I will definitely be going there again.
