Robun is a tribute to Japanese author Kanagaki Robun and his 1872 book Seiyō ryōritsū, which introduced Western barbecue to Japan.Our modern-day interpretation of Yakiniku specialises in sharing plates of beautiful robata grilled dished large plates fused with elements from across Asia, paired with inspired cocktails and an extensive choice of Japanese whiskeys or sake in the most inviting and sociable of settings.Alongside our innovative selection of sashimi, salads and small plates, our fresh sushi is served in a variety of creative incarnations including soft-shell crab futomaki roll with kimchi mayo and a tobiko-topped nigiri.Upstairs in the Kanagaki Suite, we provide an events space and cocktail bar set to host celebrations and events. Upstairs at Landrace is a casual neighbourhood bar & bistro, our food is led by ingredients which are carefully sourced from local farms and market gardens, we work with producers who have a natural approach to growing and use regenerative, high welfare farming techniques. The menu regularly features handmade pasta, line-caught Cornish fish and meat from Haye Farm in Devon, and Huntsham Farm in Herefordshire.You can join us for a quick plate of pasta at lunchtime or a longer celebratory meal with friends & family in the evening. Our menu changes regularly, you can find sample menus updated weekly on our website.The wine/cider list changes regularly, focusing on small European growers and makers. All our wines have been made following low intervention organic/biodynamic practices. We also pour many local naturally made ciders and perrys. We are visiting from the US and my husband found Opa. He loves Greek food. We were not disappointed. Had a wonderful meal. The food, service and ambiance was great. We’d definitely recommend.

Superb meal. Tasty but not too rich. Perfect quantities. A cut above other restaurants in every way as you’d expect from a French restaurant (having lived in France.). I would not have expected to pay £3 for extra bread. We were given 4 small cuts off a ficelle.

Our second time at Robun. We chose the sharing menu between 3 of us. Highly recommended! Beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Such a special Japanese restaurant in Bath. And not a chain too. Only criticism was it was a bit chilly last night in the restaurant. It had been snowing yesterday so was our first very cold day. Maybe a little more heating!

Had the afternoon tea as a birthday treat. Fantastic service, very quick with the food and had refills of our hot drinks. The afternoon tea is quite a spectacle! Massive amount of food (we had to take some away in a box!) but all very tasty. We even had a bonus birthday choux bun with chocolate sauce at the end! Only slight downside was the festive Battenberg was a bit strange being bright green and red.
