Happened upon the outside posted menu of the restaurant while visiting the German Village and was intrigued. Got a same day reservation. The experience was no less than brilliant. The ambiance expertly crafted. The staff exquisitely attentive and as a cook myself, the food was jealously fantastic. Hope I can visit Cento again soon!

I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the staff. You truly made my fiancée and I’s night unforgettable. The romantic ambiance was incredibly warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a special evening. Although I can’t recall the names of my server and the hostess—who I believe was the lovely blonde lady in the rose shirt—I want you to know how much their efforts meant to us. I was so touched when she reached out earlier in the week to confirm our reservation and to inquire about how I planned to surprise my fiancée with the earrings. Knowing how anxious I was about the entire plan, it meant the world to have such thoughtful support from the team. They truly went above and beyond to ensure that our night was memorable, and it absolutely was! Our server was fantastic as well. He really knew the menu inside and out, providing wonderful suggestions to help us navigate our first experience at the restaurant. We are already looking forward to making another reservation because this place has quickly become our favorite, even surpassing Hyde Park downtown in our eyes. Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart for creating such a calming and beautiful atmosphere for our Valentine’s Day dinner. We can’t wait to return soon! - Nathan H.

Leaving Butcher & Rose, Me wife and I felt a profound connection—not just to the exceptional food, but to the passion and creativity infused into every dish. We had reservations for Valentine’s Day. It was very busy, but we were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation. We were seated upstairs. The room is amazing. Music was a little loud, but a conversation across the table was not a problem. Of the salads, appetizers and entrees we ordered, the only item that was slightly disappointing was the octopus. It was charred perfectly and was very tender, but it lacked seasoning. The sauce was great and added flavor. I Despite every table being full in the bar and both floors, the service was very good.

Mostly good. In years past there were flowers on the table and a free dessert but I guess those days are over. We’ve been doing it for over 15 years so i think we’ll keep it up! Great service and food tasted great. No heartburn this time 😋.
