Michelin-starred Le Jardinier is a unique and refined restaurant from Michelin-starred Chef Alain Verzeroli located in The Museum of Fine Arts Houston.Rooted in timeless French approach, Chef Verzeroli has created a menu where plants play a prominent role: seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh herbs, and greens are complemented by wild and sustainable fish with local Texas meats. State of Grace is a coastal, South Texas neighborhood restaurant in the refurbished Lamar-River Oaks Shopping Center. This champagne-fueled spot located in the tony River Oaks neighborhood of town attracts a stylish crowd all day. The bar is always bustling and the patio echoes with the cry – “a Bouzy!” every time a bottle is sabered tableside. In fact, most tables will have multiple wine buckets close by, keeping the bubbly cool. The freno, octopus and steak frites paired with a signature G&T were delightful. However, it is difficult not to compare a HH at Októ to a HH at Doris. I am partial to the steak skewers at Doris. I booked a table outdoors as I had read about the noise level indoors. Alas at 7p the music was turned up to painful decibels and we were on the patio. It was ridiculously loud and left the evening on a down note.

Food is always good her..perhaps a bit less innovative than in the past but still delicious. The oysters were fantastic, as was our red snapper and scallops. Wonderful bread course and potatoes dauphinoise toothsome. Nice by the glass wine options too.

Took our friends to dinner to celebrate their recent wedding and our wedding anniversary. Had the chef’s tasting with wine pairings. Everything was exceptional. The food was excellent and the wine pairings were perfect. The service was fantastic as well. Overall, a wonderful experience. We will definitely return. Unlike some of the Michelin starred restaurants we have visited in Europe, this is a more relaxed experience which we appreciated.
