Newly remodeled, the much airier Tavern is all about art, music, and above all great food. Open for lunch and soon to include evening dining, the Tavern adds a distinctly Mexican/Pacific Coast set of flavors to the local fine dining scene.We are located in the heart of the Cedros Design District, within walking distance of the Amtrak station. The style is casual with indoor and outdoor dining ( plus bar seating). The patio, which can accommodate 18 guests, looks out onto the shop-lined Cedros Avenue and can be separated from the main dining area for private events.*Please note* Our restaurant welcomes walk-ins during our Lunch hours from 11:30 am- 3:30 pm. *Tavern restaurant will be closed for dinner (Lunch will remain open Monday and Tuesday when the belly up is dark)*Please check our website for the most up-to-date hours*

    Pacific Coast Grill is my favorite restaurant in California. It has the most amazing views and there ia not a bad seat in the place,."" The staff skilled, efficient, friendly, and amazingly accommodating... AND THE FOOD!!! INCREDIBLE, CREATIVE, perfectly prepared and presented. Menu is heavily seafood, but with enough items for the non-fish lover. And save room for the amazing desserts! The one dish one has to try is the shrimp dumpling appetizer. Nothing like it!!

    Very enjoyable dinner and overall dining experience for my mom’s birthday! The staff had great attention to detail and the food was delicious. It started to get louder just after sunset but not too bad. Will go back for another special occasion!

    My wife and I enjoyed ourselves. We were sat promptly on the patio with the option to sit inside if it was too cold. There were multiple heaters keeping us comfortable. The view of the beach was great. John took great care of us and led us into two amazing dishes, the Hokkaido Scallops and the Seabass. The Seabass was the best I’ve ever had. We split a Ceasar (very good) and had a couple drinks. The bread rolls were underwhelming and I had requested a champagne split on my reservation that we didn’t receive but the overall experience was still great. The only thing we would do different is book earlier to catch the sunset.

    Although I saw great reviews on Open Table, I was a bit skeptical, based on the location & restaurant name. However, The Tavern delivered. It is a funky spot in Solana Beach...sort of a warmup spot for the bar/entertainment next door (which was packed - tickets sold in advance). Our waiter, Juan, was well versed on the menu and made great suggestions. My wife had the Scallops, which she loved. I ordered the Italian Sausage Pappardelle...Juan suggested adding Linguine ... and I did. It was excellent. The dessert - if you're into dessert...the Reese's Peanut Butter Pie...off the charts. Plenty big for sharing.
