You’ll find Plate at No. 6 down a cobbled lane in the heart of Windsor, nestled amongst the pubs and boutiques of the old town. We are a tapas restaurant, drawing upon the culinary riches of the Mediterranean Basin; our plates reflect the diversity of cuisines found in Spain, Turkey, France, Morocco, Italy, Greece and Lebanon. All our dishes are created by our head chef Olindo who draws on these inspirations his signature dishes including a seafood gnocchi.The open kitchen and lime wash walls define the chic, intimate dining space of Plate at No.6. Our famous Mediterranean warmth and relaxed ambience welcomes work mates and first dates, quiet drinks, and family celebrations.A selection of wines have been selected by Sicilian sommelier and Italian wine expert Virgilio Gennaro and cocktails are designed by Regan Fernandes to compliment the fresh, coastal flavours that will revolve around seasonal and local availability. Situated on the High Street of Eton, close to the River Thames and between the historic buildings of Eton College and Windsor Castle, Gilbey's is open from 12 noon for lunch and 6pm for dinner every day.Originally an old butcher's shop, we created one of the first wine bars outside London in 1975 - The Eton Wine Bar. After 25 years of success, we changed the name in 2000 to Gilbey's, having recognised that our food had outgrown the original wine bar concept. Enjoy a great array of freshly cooked dishes. Magnificent dishes are cooked by Chef Akira. Relax and enjoy lunch or dinner whilst making the most of the gorgeous views of our 33 acre landscaped gardens and The River Thames.The theme of the Omakase course is a fusion of Japanese cuisine with local British and European ingredients. For example, we use traditional European ingredients such as croissants to create sushi and pasta to create Japanese dishes. We use the fresh Japanese wagyu beef for our starters and sushi, and we also use the Japanese techniques of curing local fish of Europe - using kombu seaweed - to bring out the best of the ingredients. Omakase course is £150 pp (£195 with wine & sake pairing)All the guests (10-12 covers) will be seated on the same time on 1 long table. We hope you will enjoy our special Omakase at Oakley Court Hotel.

The restaurant feels very warm and homely. This is lovely environment where you can have a stable choice such as fish and chips or something a little more extravagant. Cheese Doughnuts, Bread with Chicken butter are a must have. If you live within 10 miles then 100% you need to visit. If you live further a field, it is worth the effort, maybe plan a small trip into Windsor afterwards to see the castle.

This was a very pleasant restaurant. Decor was tastefully done and the ambience was wonderful. Relaxing music playing xmas tunes and service was perfect. Attentive but not annoyingly so. Food was outstanding. The chef definitely knows how to cook. We went for a works department meal and were glad we chose this venue. I will be coming back with my husband very soon. Thank you making us so welcome - we had a great time :O)

The bites and main were delicious. We went during storm Darragh so it was a little windy but the staff made sure we were ok and warm.
