Located on King Street in the centre of Reading, Pho is a healthy Vietnamese restaurant that specialise in pho noodle soup, the national dish of Vietnam. Aside from pho, you can also expect to find amazing sharing starters, healthy salads, hearty rice bowls and decadent curries. They have a range of freshly made juices and also Vietnamese beers and a large wine and cocktail list. Pho’s menu is 40% vegan and nearly entirely gluten-free too. A rural public house serving local beers, Berkshire gin and ciders, as well as a great wine selection. Bar snacks and full meals available 7 days a week. Cooking over a central grill makes for great theatrical cooking from our open-plan kitchen, overseen by Head Chef Nick Galer. Whilst a subtle Basque feel will permeate throughout, its roots are firmly founded on those of a classic English pub – so while featuring top end Basque dishes fit for a destination dinner, it also offers simple pub snacks for a light lunch… while the food may be inspired by the Basque country, the ingredients are local… and while the wines may be sourced from Iberia, the beer is very much English.The crowning glory is the sensational open kitchen, with a huge, CHARCOAL FIRED parilla grill and a BRICK OVEN as its centrepiece and all in front of the guests – very visual and very theatrical.     We had such a lovely time last night. All of the staff were so friendly and happy. Being Valentines Day it was a very busy day, and they made us feel welcome and all were happy to chat! Big shout out to Dinil our lovely Waiter. The food was super yummy and can't wait to come back!! Thank you xx

    Odd one this . On arrival surprisingly quiet for valentine’s evening . Place looks run down and definitely needs a make over . Food was clean & well presented so obviously the chef knows what he’s doing . Young team whilst not skilled made up for it with lots of smiles & quick service . Definitely would return for the food alone but please clean the place up .

    Last minute booking and a charming pub, limited menu but cooked to order and fresh. Mains and puddings were very good portions. Fish and chips and the burgers just felt slightly limited in flavour and seasoning which holds it back from five stars. Two adults, two teens and an under five. £156 including the tip and a drink each

    From the moment we got to the pub we were made to feel special. The pub was packed with people eating, there were only two young girls running the bar and all the tables, and they were very capable, serving everyone with a smile. The attention to detail was outstanding. We never felt rushed, not left waiting. The food was excellent, lots of choices, and several deals, so very good value for money. We had a great table and the ambience and decor were just right. Left full and happy. Can't wait to go back.
