At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. A great restaurant opposite the Theatre Royal in Glasgow. Evidently very popular, we had a lunch reservation and people were being turned away, even the bar area was full. We arrived a little early to meet friends and sat at the bar for a pre-lunch cocktail which were great. There was a seasonal lunch menu and a la carte, and spoiled for choice on both; lots of regional dishes and locally-sourced meat, fish and produce. A good selection of wines by the glass and of course a nice whisky list. We had a great time, and would go back in a heartbeat.

Wonderful food & atmosphere with staff who go above & beyond & seem to be a lovely team. We visited on a Friday evening so got to see the amazing dancers who really put on a great show. One small negative was the drinks service was very slow & could be improved but we still had a really great night & will be back.

What a lovely dinning experience at Charcoals on Christmas Day. The food was excellent, very tasty and well presented. The staff were very attentive and struck the right balance between ensuring your dinning needs were met and allowing you space to enjoy your meal. My family and I really enjoyed our dinning experience at Charcoals and will most certainly visit this restaurant again.
