Meat & Potatoes is a high end gastropub in downtown Pittsburgh. Its kitchen takes as its inspiration the idea of elevating comfort food to a gourmet level. Its chefs are inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients and its bar staff creates innovative cocktails and serves a range of wines by the glass and draught beers, as well. The menu at Meat & Potatoes is a new take on basic. First time in Pittsburgh and wanted to try this place. My 10yo and I had the Beef Wellington for two, it was amazing. The Sargent pepper old fashion was made to perfection. The carrots and potatoes sides were undercooked twice. Still well worth the visit!

Excellent food, polite service, great live singer. Pricey. Brussels sprouts too salty, in contrast to the sea bass which needed some added taste. Beet salad and lamb chops were excellent. Drinks and dessert were excellent.
