Rumi's Kitchen first opened more than a decade ago in Atlanta, the result of years of development by Chef / Owner Ali Mesghali. Showcasing the flavors of Iran -- fresh herbs, kabobs cooked over an open-fire grill -- quickly won loyal guests at the original location in Sandy Springs, GA and set us on pace to open our first restaurant outside of Georgia in 2020. Claudio Pirollo grew up in Belgium where he soon discovered his passion for cooking as he wandered around his father’s fine Italian épicerie (grocery store) and watched his mother prepare dinner every day. The dual influence of Italy and Belgium triggered Chef Pirollo’s aspirations to develop his knowledge and experience with different flavors.A Trattoria is not a pizzeria, it is an Italian-style eating establishment that is generally much less formal than a ristorante but more formal than an osteria. My 1st intro was the hostess. I was running a bit late. I called to make sure it wouldn't be a problem. Hostess was most gracious. Upon arrival hostess offered me a table & asked if it was ok. I requested another table. The cleaned the table immediately & Sat me. Our waiter's name was Gee, however there was another server that assisted, Leonel pronounced Lay-o-nel. Both young men were very accommodating, friendly, & knowledgeable about the menu. They were absolutely WONDERFUL!! I was extremely impressed with the food & drink. I'll definitely be going back!!!

Food was great, however, they changed their menu significantly and took off all the meat dishes (Iskender kebab and others). Now they only have kebabs with ground beef and chicken (no more cut meat)
