Tucked away on Lafayette Park, just a block from the downtown and seaport neighborhoods of Salem, MA, The Babe is the perfect place to rendezvous after work for a cocktail, grab a bite with friends, or get together for a late night celebration. Horseshoe Grill in North Reading has been family-owned since the 1920s when it was originally a supper club for members only. That changed in 1957 and, since then, patrons have come from all over to sample the famous ribs that have made Horseshoe Grill an institution. The relaxing atmosphere inside makes it the perfect place to get to work on a rack of ribs, lobster Rangoon, Thai chili calamari or nachos. There is lighter fare at Horseshoe Grill too like the Asian chicken lettuce wraps, cheese quesadilla, ahi tuna and summer fruit salad. There are gluten-free options on the menu too.

The Sunday brunch is amazing. The food was so delicious got a made to order omelette that was heaven..the coffee was fantastic. Service was great even while they were very busy.

The restaurant was great. The food was outstanding: an order of popovers to start, a roasted duck breast for me, a baked salmon for my wife left us so full we couldn’t get to dessert. The parking was a challenge and it was pretty noisy but our server, Martina, was attentive and friendly so we were very happy with the whole experience and will definitely be back

Katie at the hostess station was great! And the live music in the bar area was a nice plus as well. That said, the story of the night was their Veal Chop Parmigiana. Ponded thin and tender, on the bone with perfectly crisp breading, it was outstanding. The grilled octopus appetizer was done very nicely as well. All in all, one of the better meals I’ve had in a very long time.

Our Bartender was excellent! The food was amazing! We got the steak and eggs and the breakfast wrap! Absolutely amazing!! Can’t wait to go back! But the star was the lemon ricotta donuts served warm with homemade jam!!!
