The Gabriel Archer Tavern was built in 1987 on footprints of an old farm shed. Today, its mission is to provide a memorable farm-to-table dining experience that's both delicious and nourishing.

In addition to a half-acre produce garden and greenhouse on site where lettuces and herbs will be grown, our chef works hard to find local farmers as partners in producing a menu oriented towards fresh and seasonal specialties.

Our wide variety of fresh selections from our unique menu will guarantee that everyone in your party leaves with a smile.

We have always enjoyed our meals and wine at Gabriel Archer Tavern, especially their brunch menu. We started off with BBQ Meatballs, then my wife had the Virginia Ham Benedict and I had their Shrimp & Grits! We enjoyed the meal with a couple of Mimosas.

Amazing experience! Jenna was fantastic and took great care of us. The Valentines meal was amazing and cannot recommend the wine pairing enough.

Really pleasant night for a Valentine’s dinner. The prix fixe meal was only advertised through Open Table, not on the GA Tavern web site so having planned two dinners, we cancelled the second reservation for the Sat night. Even though it was a set dinner there were three options for the third course (fish, lamb and veg) and two dessert options (choc lava cake and chestnut panna cotta). All 4 courses were sublime with really subtle complementary flavours and the wine pairings worked though we do not like sparking wines with our desserts.

WE are loyal Williamsburg Winery folk. I wish I would have checked the "SET MENU". I literally ate nothing,not even the chocolate cake desert. I took a bite and didnt like it,nothing on the menu appealed to me. For $85,I was beyond disappointed. Denice our server was Fabulous,she knew I hated the food,though. The $42 bottle of wine & being with my Valentine David saved the eve for me. Yes we will go back,but Id suggest ALWAYS check the menu first.

Wonderful place for Valentine’s dinner. The set menu was delicious. Set menus always give me a chance to try something I may never have selected dining à la carte’. Carrot ginger soup had a wonderful spice to it and presentation was beautiful.

Service and ambience were great during our Valentines Dinner. However, did not really enjoy the very limited menu especially when considering the value and portions.

Our Valentine's Day Anniversary of our first date. Food and service were excellent. The food preparation, from the oysters and caviar snack to the carrot ginger soup, delicious entrees and desserts were innovative/creative and well prepared. The only issue we had were how cold the venue was. But this Williamsburg Winery dinner spot is definitely worth a try for a special occasion! The winery tasting room across the walk is a plus!

Fantastic Valentines dinner experience here! 4 courses with each paired to a different wine was spot on. The food was presented beautifully and more importantly, was simply flavorful and delicious!
