Enjoy an intimate dining experience at Bar Isabel - a cozy restaurant nestled between Toronto's little Italy and little Portugal, where creative Spanish-inspired small plate dishes are served alongside cocktails and an extensive Iberian focused wine list. The restaurant's elegant interior boasts an intriguing blend of soft lighting, curved walls and a beautiful mosaic tile floor. Managed under the guidance of Maitre d' and Partner Alessandro Pietropaolo, Bar Isabel's menu includes a diverse mix of pintxos, conservas, seafood and meat dishes. Diners rave about the grilled octopus, the bone marrow and the ceviche. For dessert, the Basque cake and sherry cream is a must-try. Bar Isabel is open 5-11pm Sunday through Friday, and 12-11pm Saturday. General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. Somehow these two halves make perfect sense, and complement each other in a seamless conversation, where neither wins the argument, but you really do have to see it! See you soon!

    Everything was amazing, each dish held its own in incredible taste. It would be impossible to pick a favourite, the entire meal was top notch. You can see the passion behind each dish.. Cocktails were creative and the ambience was buzzing. Cant wait to go back.

    Wonderful food. We shared keftedes,spanakopita, sea bass and choriatiki salad. Finished it off with Loukoumades that were better than my aunt's.... And she is an expert! Can't wait to go again!

    Newly opened Greek Famous seafood restaurant. Very best in town. Cooking are good and delicious. Great selection of seafoods from around the world. Uses best ingredients to cook. Only setback is that they do not allow wine corkages! That’s a big deterrent for wine lovers! We don’t mind paying a fee to bring our favorite wine to enjoy with a good meal! Need improvement

    Great experience from the get. Sat at the bar and served by the bartender, Joe. Very personable and navigated me through the menu very well. It was quiet in the restaurant when I got there and half way through the place was packed. The pork secreto was perfect along with the shishitos. Finished the night with the basque cake which is a must. I have been following this restaurant on Instagram since 2013, it’s my first time to Toronto so I had to stop. Cannot wait to get back here!

    I went to Aera ( in The Well ) with my sister who lives in BC and she wanted a rooftop with a good view. Aera is 38 stories and has an amazing view of downtown Toronto . We were at the Chef's counter and had a great views of the CN Tower. The host was great. She showed us two options for seating, where we were reserved and one more option. I had the mac and cheese which was delicious. They put mushroom and onion in it. And we each had a cocktail. I had the Amelia, I think it was called. It was tasty but quite small, that was the only thing. My sister's cocktail was a more reasonable size. The guys beside us had a cheeseburger and it looked so good! The service was great . They server was friendly and service was fairly quick . The restaurant is on the more pricey side and so are the drinks. But if you are looking for a great view of the city it's worth it. I definetly recommend and would go again.
