Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and grew up in Boston, MA. Marybeth, a Sioux Falls native, ventured to the east coast as a nanny and then nursing school in Somerville, MA. The two met, fell in love, and became engaged on Martha’s Vineyard island. Moving back to Sioux Falls in 1999 and working at several area restaurants, they opened R Wine Bar in 2018. As owners of R Wine Bar, Riccardo and Marybeth are passionate about one thing: people. They believe that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. With a curated wine list, local craft beer on tap, and beautifully executed menu, Riccardo and Marybeth are thrilled to bring R Wine Bar & Kitchen to the East Bank of Downtown Sioux Falls along with their General Manager, Jane Allen, Assistant Manager Bailey Bernal, Sous Chef Caleb Carr, Sous Chef Esteban Gonzalez, and Culinary Director Adam Schumacher.

Riccardo and Marybeth welcome you to their 3rd property, Maribella Ristorante. Opening R Wine Bar & Kitchen in 2018, and Vespa Catering and Brix Wine Bar in 2022, they have created a culture of hospitality for guests who feel like family. Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and moved to Boston when he was 5-years-old. He stayed in the Boston area for college and attended Tufts University. Marybeth, born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD, moved to Boston to be a nanny and went to Somerville School of Nursing. The two met in Medford, MA, dated and became engaged in Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard in 1996. Relocating to Sioux Falls, SD in 1999, Riccardo and Marybeth have developed a reputation for making people feel welcome with their three boys, Dante, Berent, and Jaxon. Together with their hand-picked team, Riccardo and Marybeth bring the best parts of hospitality to life in their restaurants, for both their staff and guests.     I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! It’s a truly authentic, family-owned gem that made me feel so welcome from the moment I walked in. As someone who eats gluten-free, I’m always a little nervous about dining out, but they went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. The waiter was an absolute sweetheart—so attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Every dish was incredible, and honestly, this was the best gluten-free food I’ve ever had. You’d never know anything was GF because the flavors were that amazing! If you’re looking for a place that combines warm hospitality with outstanding food, this is it. Can’t wait to come back!

    The staff did such a great job taking care of us! I called ahead of time to let them know I would be proposing on Valentine's Day. They were quick to make sure we had a great table, a rose for her, complimentary Champagne and dessert. The best part was that all I asked for was help taking pictures, they went all out and were at the ready with a Polaroid camera and made my fiance feel so special. Thank you for being part of our perfect night ❤️

    I had the buffalo steak and my wife had the steak tacos. Both of us enjoyed our meal as well as nachos for an appetizer. The portions were great, so much so that we didn't have room for dessert.

The service was impeccable; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure every need was met without being intrusive. As for the steak, it was prepared to perfection—succulent, flavorful, and cooked just as I ordered. Each bite was a delight, and it was evident that only top-quality ingredients were used.
