The food was great; service was not. The Valentine's prix fixe dinner was superb. First courses - lobster bisque was rich and creamy with lots of lobster bits and the winter salad was superb with lots of berries. Second courses - lovely multi-colored roasted baby carrots and smoked salmon (actually lox not smoked salmon) and caviar on crostini was also excellent. Third course (main) - perfectly prepared New York steak with creamed potatoes and fall-off-the-bone delicious leg of lamb with baby potatoes. Fourth courses (dessert) - super rich coffee cream gelato and fruity marionberry sorbet. The problems were that our second course arrive before we could finish the first course and then on top of that, after barely starting the second course our main (third) course arrived. We felt very rushed. Then the wine we ordered at the beginning did not show up until we were both finished with our main courses. Finally, we waited over 30 minutes (no exaggeration) for our desserts. Very disappointing, seemed like our server was totally frazzled for whatever reason. We will return to Sparrow, but definitely not for a special occasion.

Food was delicious. We made 7:45 reservations and apparently the restaurant closes at 8pm. While they told us not to worry and we could take our time, it felt odd to be the last customers. We typically like to linger but didn’t feel like we could. We would return for sure but come for an earlier dinner.

The food was delicious but most of all, our hostess Pamela was great! Being from Florence, Italy, she really made us feel like we were actually there. She was quite energetic, very pleasant and made sure we were happy with our food. Great experience!!

We love the wine and bought a few bottles! Our wine steward was great!
