Beautiful place! Had such a great experience. Waitress (Lexi) was wonderful and the food was delicious! Started with the fried oysters. Can’t recommend this enough! Hubby and I shared plates. We had the chicken fried ny strip and the bone-in ribeye. Both were great but the fried ny strip really stood out. The gravy it came with was out of this world. Great bar along with strong wine selection. Loved our experience here. Will definitely return the next time we are in town.

Although I was hoping for brunch, and Cafe Modern only serves brunch on Sundays, I found the omelette with arugula salad to be a fine brunch item. The omelette was delicious and the dressing on the salad very good. They served a basket of focaccia bread which was exceptional! I also really like the mimosa drinks menu. I especially like the French Mimosa and find it affordable at $12. This trip to the Modern was to celebrate a friend's birthday, and she really enjoyed it. It felt special, she said. Another thing I like about Cafe Modern is the staff. I've been going to this cafe since it opened and the staff have been unfailingly pleasant and efficient. If you want to go somewhere without music playing in the background and no TVs, this is a good place.

The atmosphere was cool (minus the tv being on which was a little weird). I think this restaurant will continue to get better as it attracts more groups looking to have fun. The apps were fantastic (hummus, sushi) and the burger / sandwiches were delicious (add the Cesare salad for a little more). They also can split the meal if sharing which was a bonus if you want to try lots of things! Dessert was a star highlight - cobbler!!!!! Yum! I wish it could be an after hours place (10:30 PM, lights dim, music turned up, drink specials).

Exceeded our expectations. We loved the vibe, the place was packed providing a great buzz, the menu was loaded with delicious options and the seafood was so fresh. The parking lot was pretty tight and jam-packed, so we were disappointed there wasn't valet....but that was the only low point. We are looking forward to our next visit already.

As we expected, the food was perfect...tamales and chicken fried steak. The service was great, and I love the Backstage Club..brings back many memories of past rodeos.
