Tucked away on Lafayette Park, just a block from the downtown and seaport neighborhoods of Salem, MA, The Babe is the perfect place to rendezvous after work for a cocktail, grab a bite with friends, or get together for a late night celebration. We take pride in our scratch kitchen with a menu inspired by Northeast sandwich culture and cuisine; touching on fan favorites from Philly to NY, and of course, Boston! Our menu includes specialties like house-ground cheese burgers, loaded Italian subs with freshly sliced salumi, crispy and cheesy mozzarella pockets, crispy wings, and more.     Another amazing dining experience at the chefs’ table near the open kitchen ! We were a party of seven. We had several craft cocktails ( memorable was a gin “tea” served in a beautiful teacup), vintage grand cru champagne, wine, just about every hot or cold appetizer, oysters with caviar, popovers( must try) , carpaccio ( outstanding) , many beautifully prepared and delicious entrées ( my favorite is the mushroom Campanelli) plus each of us had dessert ( Mexican chocolate ice cream, sticky pudding and blueberry ice cream - all hand made). I’m a local resident and took my family here the weekend of Thanksgiving ! This is the best restaurant scene ever to happen in Salem! Can’t say enough great things about this establishment. Our waitress Martina was outstanding and so was our sommelier!

    The Sunday brunch is amazing. The food was so delicious got a made to order omelette that was heaven..the coffee was fantastic. Service was great even while they were very busy.

    Wonderful family run spot, with a menu of creative dishes plus favorite standards. Great for an early dinner after visiting the Peabody Essex museum or touring Salam. Charming decor, good prices. Excellent pasta dishes with choice of chicken or veal. Good for kids too but also cute and romantic!

    Our Bartender was excellent! The food was amazing! We got the steak and eggs and the breakfast wrap! Absolutely amazing!! Can’t wait to go back! But the star was the lemon ricotta donuts served warm with homemade jam!!!
