The long established tradition of Afternoon Tea has been wonderfully preserved at Ashford Castle since 1868 - you’ll notice the original silver tea set displayed in the Connaught Room, which was presented to Lord and Lady Ardilaun to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in 1896. We found this gem of a place 2 years ago and travel from sligo to eat here. The staff are lovely, the athmosphere is peaceful and calm. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children, the menu is easy to read and has a good choice. The dumplings are a firm favourite we enjoyed the platter. Having a variety was nice. Its lovely to go to a restaurant where the food is really fresh, its light but very tasty and great value for money. 5 starters, 4 main courses, drinks for 119 euro. Compared to what we normally pay this to us is great value for money. Looking forward to our next meal there.

We arrived later and there was no problem, we’re seated beside window with fantastic view of the city, staff were excellent, food was delicious and desert came with a chocolate congrats on desert plate which was a lovely touch! Highly recommend
