Forged from the fires of Covington, Ky. Opal is a casual, chef-driven, fine-dining restaurant that offers wood-fired grilled foods, craft cocktails, and a curated wine menu using locally focused products. The menu, developed by the company's culinary director, Chef Eric Polhamus, features Contemporary American dishes. Opal is the third restaurant installment in the portfolio of Bill and Morgan Whitlow. Opals are known to be the stone that represents justice, harmony, protection, love and passion. Just like the gemstone, Opal Rooftop Restaurant & Bar is different from every angle you approach it from. Patrons will enjoy a 360-degree backdrop of downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky or dine indoors as the flames from the unique Grillworks grill reflect off of the bar.     Why would you go to a chain restaurant when we have this local gem that grows most of the food it prepares? Our son is one of the most pickiest of all our kids yet raved about everything he ate! Phenomenal steaks with careful attention to temperature preferences, a la carte items that have a Dutch influence, and a tomato salad unlike anything I’ve had before - extraordinary. Service was outstanding and meticulous led by Savannah and Matthew. This will be our go to for this type of experience!

    Just a wonderful night. We come here every year or so when in town for business. Never a bad experience. The best fillet I’ve ever had, excellent service and a 360 view of the beautiful Cincinnati skyline.

    Always delicious, relaxing, accommodating with great service. Never disappointed. Menu is creative and seasonal. Love the pick three option and we always do that to get a broader sampling of the chefs creations. Last night we got into a real traffic mess and were quite late and they were so gracious when we finally showed up!

    My wife and I went for the first time for her birthday. We were greeted at the door by our waiter, and he acknowledged her birthday, which was great! We were seated early, which was great, and our server went over the options and his favorites. We went with the flat bread, and then the filet. It was all very delicious. We plan on coming back to try the brunch.

    The workers on Valentine’s Day were all super nice, friendly and worked hard to make sure we had a great experience! We had three children with us and they catered to them. We will definitely go back!
