Here’s a polished review with a focus on a birthday celebration: I celebrated my birthday at Crown Black, and it was truly unforgettable! The staff went above and beyond to make the occasion special, offering exceptional service with warm hospitality. The food was exquisite—every dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The ambiance added to the festive mood, making it the ideal spot for a celebration. Crown Black made my birthday one to remember, and I can’t wait to return!

Booths are way too close on the left side of the restaurant. Can’t sit without kicking the person across from you or overlapping feet during your meal

The ambience in the restaurant was amazing. The service we received from start to finish was great. Our server was Christopher and manager was Brazil and they went above and beyond to ensure that my mom and I had a wonderful experience. They suggested entrée and drink items that did not miss. My mom had the salmon with curry and rice. She really enjoyed it. I had the crab fried rice, which was extremely flavorful. The drinks were great. I will definitely be visiting again soon with family and friends. The location was good. We’re able to park and get in and out quickly

A very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere in the first floor dining room. We ate here before going to a play. The food was great, we loved the appetizers. The potstickers were exceptional as was the crab cake. We also enjoyed the coffee. May be the best we have had at restaurant in Dallas. The service was attentive but not rushed. We visited the rooftop where it was louder and bit more festive. It was the best of both worlds! Quiet and relaxing for a date downstairs and great upstairs for drinks with friends. The menu is served in both places with a Happy Hour menu upstairs. We will be back.

Native Son has no peer in Canton, Texas. It rivals the top restaurants in the Metroplex but preserves the hometown feel we who live in East Texas love.
