Designated historical, 740 is one of Colorado's two oldest remaining saloons; transformed back to its 1904 roots; a traditional American dining saloon with a turn of the century ambiance featuring a magnificent room dominating bar, built in 1880 by the Brunswick Company,. The copper spit trough, once equipped with running water, still exists at the front of the bar. Louisville, notorious for its drinking, gambling, and illegal activities, evidence of the occasional misunderstanding is the .22 caliber bullet hole in the front bar. The restaurant was a little cold, but the service was amazing. I wish we had caught our waitresses name, very attentive, and went above and beyond as always, the dining experience was not hurried, we didn’t feel rushed, and we had a very nice post Christmas dinner for 10. *****

Everything was great from the moment we walked into the restaurant. We were seated quickly and everyone was very attentive from the beginning. Food was excellent and came out in a timely fashion. We never felt rushed or hurried. Overall wonderful experience!
