El Raval is hands-down our favorite spot for special occasions, and it’s become our anniversary tradition. The Chef’s Choice 8-Course Meal is a culinary masterpiece—each dish more incredible than the last. The food is fresh, flavorful, and artfully presented. The staff are phenomenal—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about creating a memorable experience. Every visit feels magical, and we leave counting down the days until our next one. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Austin, El Raval is it. Highly recommend the 8-course menu—you won’t regret it!

Absolutely exceptional dining experience! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a memorable celebration for my father's birthday. The service from Edwin, our server to Justin the GM who personally stopped by to wish my father a happy birthday, was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Each dish we tried was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The chef’s attention to detail was evident in every bite. The wine pairing was impeccable, complementing the flavors perfectly. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an unforgettable culinary experience. We’ll definitely be returning soon!

As always, a fabulous experience. Go early if you like a quiet vibe, once it fills up the conversations around you can be loud. But not the music. The bar seating is also very nice.

Best meal we've had in South Austin...........EVER!

We were drawn back by the menu descriptions in the February newletter and so started with the La Catrina Negra drink. The marigold flower powder was a very fun addition. The Queso appetizer was wrapped in hoja santa leaves that our server told us were grown in Chef Iliana’s own garden. The Estofado Istmeno was also delicious. The crowning touch was the Tamal de Chocolate with orange blossom ice cream. We like the ice cream so much we ordered an extra bowl. Can’t wait to see the next newsletter to see what we’ll be ordering during our next visit.
