Honoring Chef Miki Izumisawa, the female, award-winning sushi artist, originally trained by the one and only Nobu Matsuhisa. Miki was inspired by nature to create unique nigiri, cut rolls and hand rolls that blur the line between art and fusion sushi. Miki's recipes transform elements of the natural world with names such as Lava Flow, Moon and Sun, Feather in the Sky, and Prairie. Before her passing, Miki carefully coached outstanding female-only sushi chefs to execute her masterpieces. Her legacy continues in this romantic styled coastal, intimate sushi bar and cozy 18 window seats with views of Laguna's main beach. Owners Chris Olsen and Greg Washer are longtime locals who appreciate what Miki did for this community with an outstanding Japanese experience pushing the boundaries of tradition. 1912年、フォレスト通りの曲がり道で、23歳のジョー・ジャーラスがラグーナ・ランバー社を創設し、彼と父親（葉巻製造手で、最初の郵便局長および不動産代理人）は現在の美しいフランス・ノルマンディー風の建物を建てました。木材置き場の開業前は、建築材料をラバに引かせたり、潮に乗せて浮かべたりして運ぶ必要があり、ラグーナ・ビーチの住人は300人にも満たない数でした。木材置き場の開業後、この地域はかつてない勢いで成長し、テントの町から繁華な都市へと変貌を遂げました。ラグーナ・ランバー社は73年間にわたり営業を続け、うち62年間はこの場所で営業していました。その建物は、第一次世界大戦中にジョーが海外へ出かけた経験から影響を受けており、町の美観に最も大きな影響を与えた建物の一つとなっています。このランドマークの影響で、ダウンタウンの多数の店舗の正面と、町中の家々が、土壁と瓦屋根がある半木骨造で美しく装飾されています。現在、384 Forestは現代的なアメリカンレストラン Lumberyardの出発点となっています。
