Inspired by Parisian bistros and Brooklyn’s favorite taverns, Little Sparrow picks up the mantle from its beloved predecessor, JCT Kitchen and Bar to serve the Westside in a new incarnation. Named in honor of superstar French chanteuse Edith Piaf (Fry’s Howell Mill Road steakhouse, Marcel, is named after Piaf’s lover, boxer Marcel Cerdan) the menu presents timeless Brasserie classics and simple, indulgent fare including an entire section dedicated to extraordinary "Frites."     Overall a great experience. The server was amazing. The bread is to die for. The oysters were delicious. The peel /eat shrimp appetizer was great. The octopus appetizer was great. We also had the she crab soup, the mushroom side, the hushpuppy side. The entrees were the scallops dish and the flounder dish. Overall great. The wait time between dishes seemed very long. Not a place to go if you are on a tight schedule for event after dinner. Suggestion may be to order everything early on and let them glow it. Definitely will be back for oysters and appetizers.

    When I made reservations through the website, I noted that I was bringing my daughter for her birthday. When we checked in, they immediately asked whose birthday is it and wished her a happy birthday. When we arrived at our table, the menus were there and said on them “happy birthday, Heather!“ There was birthday confetti on the table cloth. A wonderful large slice of ice cream chocolate vanilla Oreo cake with a candle was brought to the table at the end of the meal. She was very happy.

    Our dinner at Marcel was the best dinner experience I’ve had in 40+ years. The food was excellent but what took it over the top was how hospitable the staff was. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. It was like a family member who wanted to share their food with you. We weren’t rushed and enjoyed just sitting and chatting with ourselves and the staff. They treated everyone like a VIP. I encourage everyone to try Marcel and I’ll gladly recommend it and come back.

    we sat outside where there were lovely warm heaters. I actually loved it more than sitting in the dining room. Yancy our waiter was amazing. So enjoyed him. Food... french onion soup is amazing - the bread and butter - so so good. the new "Lasagna" dish was so decadent with black shaved truffle on top that they shaved tableside. It was so good. the Frites are so good. I cannot say enough good things about the food and the service at Little Sparrow.
