The Duke of Wellington Inn is nestled in the tranquil Tyne valley village of Newton just off the A69 near Corbridge, within easy access to Newcastle, Hadrian"s Wall Country, Hexham and Northumberland's National Park. The décor reflects the traditional country inns history but with a modern twist. Existing oak and stone has been enhanced with modern colours, furniture and fabrics, and the theme extends to the bedrooms.Lunches and dinners are served seven days a week in the bar and dining room. The food provided is traditional British comfort eating to an exceptional standard and makes use of local, seasonal ingredients. This is some of the best food in Newcastle. My Dover sole was slightly over but the other dishes were on point. Great service and the ambience is always lively which I love, can’t wait to go back.

Gorgeous Sunday dinner we both had the lamb dinner lovely and tender gravy you could drink haha We had the cheese board and a sticky toffee sundae beautiful. It was quite even though there was children in which was a nice change, staff were friendly we will be back again SOON thank you

There were 5 of us eating on a Saturday evening and although a limited menu we all chose something different and each was well pleased with their choice.The service was excellent .We will be going there again.
