Indian Zing restaurant in Hammersmith has won rave reviews its modern, light yet robustly-flavoured Indian food. Indeed, it’s one of Fay Maschler’s Top Five Indian restaurants. Formerly Deputy head chef at Chutney Mary and Head Chef at Veeraswamy, chef-proprietor Manoj Vasiakar has got the traditional / contemporary mix right on the money. Deciding what to have is agony – so make your mates promise to share, then start with Prawn and Aubergine Kharkhatla and move on to the delicately-spiced Fish Shirale (cooked in coconut milk and finished with onion and tomato masala) or the crackingly good Duck Chettinad. With spot-on service, elegantly relaxed surroundings and very reasonable prices, this Indian will make your heart Zing.

Our menu and Specials Board change daily: Simply cooked sustainable fish; British meats; delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes and tempting puddings to finish. Simple dishes, big flavours.We are just as serious about good drink as we are about good food. Our well stocked bar helps keep the relaxed and convivial spirit of a local boozer very much alive.We operate a rotating list of guest real ales, as well as world wines from just under £30 a bottle. Patri has several meanings, in Hindi it means Pavement, in Urdu it means Track and in ancient Sanskrit its means a vessel or small furnace. The name took us back to our origins and we decided to use Pavement, Tracks, and Furnace to come up with a street food menu containing all three elements. Our starters are street food classics on pavements in India and Pakistan. Our grills are freshly cooked in the tandoor at over 400 degrees to replicate cooking in a furnace.
