This is one of our favorite restaurants in Telluride. They are consistent, the fish quality is high and the ambiance is perfect. We prefer the downstairs dining room, nice and cozy on a cold winter night for a la cart ordering. They have a phenomenal sake and wine selection. If you’re looking for a longer, more intimate experience, the omakase offerings in the private chef’s room is one of the more unique meal experiences you will find in Telluride. They offer sake and wine pairings that are very enjoyable as well.

The room was inviting and the patrons were energetic in their conversations which made it feel like we were in the right place for a Thursday night. Our server was excellent in her recommendations, attentiveness and timeliness. Each course was well prepared and delicious. Prices were high, so the overall value we received was not quite on par with other restaurants in the area. Nonetheless, we look forward to returning.

This was our first time to 221 South Oak. We are from Boston and have eaten at many fantastic restaurants in the major east coast cities. 221 South Oak is as good, if not better, than most of them. The room was quite cosy and had the look and feel of being in our hosts home. The menu ingredients were locally sourced, remarkably fresh, and combined in ways that were both inventive and delicious. Every dish we had was remarkable - and left us impressed with both the presentation and flavor profiles. The service was equally excellent. Kelsey was attentive, knowledgeable, gave great recommendations, and was our guide thru a remarkable evening. This was one of our best dining experiences in recent memory. We were impressed!
