Each time I’ve dined at Cafe Malta before (there have been several) I enjoyed the delicious food, excellent service and cheerful atmosphere. This time was different. I felt like our table was crammed between the bar and people next to us. Our waitress was nice but she forgot my boyfriend’s cocktail, served cold bread (with what tasted like margarine not butter only when we asked for it) brought an extra salad by mistake (we were not charged) and overlooked our several attempts to get her to bring the check. It was a busy Friday night and I made our reservation last minute so I understand but it just wasn’t up to the standard of my previous dining experiences there. Café Malta is a gem in a wasteland of restaurants with mediocre food and bad service in Southwest Austin. I hope this was an aberration and I plan to go back. I really hope I wont be disappointed again.

Carve was a great restaurant! We went for my husband’s birthday. Everyone made sure to tell him happy birthday and they even gave him a birthday card! The food was delicious and the wine we ordered was great! Our server was knowledgeable and always nearby if we needed anything.

We love the original El Alma so tried the south location. A big positive is plenty of parking. Our wait person was great and really sweet. The food was good. My biggest suggestion is to put some dimmers on the lights! I felt like I was in a cafeteria. The other location is so cozy and pretty. Just sayin’😊

One of the best pop ups I I’ve ever been to. Only thing like this in south Austin! The drinks are great and customer care is service is absolutely amazing!

A very nice casual restaurant with an extensive menu. Several television screens throughout and excellent service. We had six family members this time and everyone was very pleased with their meals. Extensive craft beer list, great burgers and my wife really liked her salmon dinner. Signature "Pizookie" dessert is a great ending to the meal. Also, great fish and chips.
