Jordan Pond House, a restaurant and shop with a long tradition within Acadia National Park, sits on a hill overlooking a beautiful lawn along the Jordan Pond. Guests have been enjoying these amazing views and dining at this site since 1893 when Nellie McIntire, the first proprietor, started baking and serving her famous popovers out of the restaurant. Ever since then, we have been serving popovers and tea.Please note: Reservations may be made for inside dining only. Due to weather variability, we are unable to accommodate reservations for the lawn. Please inform the host at the time of your arrival if you would prefer outdoor seating, and we would be happy to accommodate your request, pending availability.

Enjoy our full menu and bar, lovely mountain and water views from every seat, and meet a lobsterman in person at the Nor'Easter Pound & Market. Located near Acadia National Park, with a laidback and comfortable feel mixed with elevated yet affordable dishes. Locally owned, locally loved. Now open DAILY. We do not accept reservations for outdoor tables due to the possibility of inclement weather. Tables will be saved indoors only-- if you arrive and a table is available outdoors we will do our best to move you out! Our deck and bar are saved for walk-ins on a first come first served basis.     Haven’t been here for at least 10 years and was pleasantly surprised at the level of food, ambiance, and service. Very welcoming host! Our birthday dinner was met with a nice, handwritten card at the table and a bit of fluff with the dessert. The setting is still one of the best on the island and simply stunning. The piano player had a varied selection at the perfect level of sound. We shared the pear salad which was inventive and very good. Bar Harbor Blonde oysters, as always, were terrific. Homemade bread with a blueberry composed butter was nice.Husband’s rack of lamb was perfectly cooked. Unfortunately our nice server mixed up my order and brought Cod instead of my order of filet mignon so I had a long delay for my dinner. Dessert was a unique apple w/mousse concoction and was very fun and good!Probably should have comped the dessert for the entree error but not. Otherwise our server was very welcoming and competent.

    The perfect wintery meal on a cold night! From the festive eggnog and the sharply delicious vinaigrette on the house salad, to the rich short ribs and ice cream- it was just perfect. So grateful to have a dependably good restaurant open to celebrate with friends in the holiday season!

    It took a month to get in and it was worth it. I had frequented the pond house when I was young (35 yrs ago) and I had been wanting to get back. It was as good as I remember. Staff got us in earlier than our reservation time, waitstaff were friendly and welcoming and the popovers and jam are the best I’ve had! Definitely worth the visit/experience.
