The Pour House is a tapas and cocktail bar with a relaxed atmosphere and chill music. Established by Luke and Robert in 2023, we are a relatively new experience within the town of Whitehaven, offering cool and fresh ideas to the cocktail and tapas industry. We offer a range of traditional Spanish and English tapas dishes from Thursday to Saturday and Sunday lunches on Sundays. We are thrilled to have been selected to take over The iconic Stickle Barn in Great Langdale. The building has been managed by The National Trust for the last 10 years but with so many other huge projects they decided to find a local operator to take over the mantle and continue their great work.Lanty Slee would of regularly passed The Stickle Barn on his way to Wrynose Pass which he used to travel to Ravenglass for supplies, a 4 day round trip by pack horse, accompanied by his faithful lurcher to alert him of any excise men laying in wait!We took over at the end of May and spent 5 weeks renovating the building and getting ready for the summer, we hope you love what we have done and we have lots more planned for the coming months.We offer amazing cakes, coffee, local ales, Lanty spirit, hand crafted cocktails, nibbles, hearty meals and good times from 10am to 10pm every day.     All the food was fab. Cumberland sausage, Brisket with pearl onion and red wine stew, steak burger, chicken burger were all great as were the sides - all spot on with clean plates. The staff were very welcoming, our 1 and 2 year old loved their pizza and chips and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Thank you for a lovely afternoon ! Plus the cost for the meals including drinks was very reasonable 😊

    Had a fabulous meal, great portion sizes, very tasty and served piping hot. The servers were attentive and friendly. Prices really well too. We will definitely go back on our next visit

    Took the wife for a valentines lunch at The Pour House in Whitehaven. Booking a table was very easy and stress free. On arrival we recieved a warm and friendly greeting before being shown to our table. The menu had a great variety. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was delicious and of high quality. The whole experience was very positive and both my wife and I have agreed that it is somewhere we will visit again in the near future.
