The Gravel Pit Brasserie & Bar is situated in The Waterfront Hotel with mouthwatering views over the east lake to accompany our fantastic menu. This site was once a large marsh, fed by the River Great Ouse, but in the 1950s gravel extraction created a series of small lakes and pools which survives today. The gravel was mainly used in road and industrial construction, but today the old gravel pits are home to an abundance of wildlife, flora and fauna; a magical place for all of us to enjoy.Our restaurant is open 7 days a week, from 7am - 11pm, with last food orders at 9pm.

    I've eaten here multiple times and always loved it. I'm vegetarian and gluten free and they have always looked after me. Today was a disappointment. The usual gluten free roll was replaced by thin dry sliced gluten free bread. I asked why I wasn't getting the usual roll and was told they've changed supplier so it was no longer available. I said the bread was very dry and was told that gluten free bread is dry. I've been coeliac for 13 years and today there are many gluten free breads that are NOT dry. Do disappointed. Didn't even get a free cup of tea as a sorry!

    I love the fact this pub is literally one minute off the A14 and you fee like you are in a proper pub, in a proper village, eating proper food. And you can get access from both carriageways via the bridge. Knocks the service stations into a cocked hat! Lunch menu is a good size and a good price. All very civilised and I will certainly pop in again when i'm in the area at lunch time.

    We very much enjoyed our meal at the Elm. Food was well cooked and we enjoyed both courses. There was a good selection of wines too.
