南北戦争前に建てられ、カル・マイラム家により1936年に全面改築されたMerrick Innは、レキシントン有数の高級な馬の農場ための邸宅として用いられていました。 マイラムと厩務員のジョンソン氏は、1918年のケンタッキーダービーの勝ち馬の伝説的な「エクスタミネーター」の訓練をここMerrick Placeで行っていました。ここでは「Tut Tut」、コムラスキー、コモドール、ブラウン・ウィズダム、ミス・ジョイ、ミルクメイド、マッキー、ダスト・フラワーも富と名声への道を歩み始めました。いずれも、 Merrick自身ほどの広範囲の名声は得ていませんが。Merrickは賞金獲得回数157回、62勝で終了しました。 Merrick Innはマリー家によってほぼ40年にわたり所有・経営され、伝統的な南部料理と独創的な料理の中でも最高のものを提供し続けています。時代は変われど、インの美しさと魅力は変わらぬ姿を保っていると信じています。

    Our family of 8 had an exceptional dining experience at Merrick Inn on March 9th. The service was impeccable and our dinners were delicious - their special of pecan crusted halibut was exceptional! We have loved dining at Merrick Inn for decades and though we all now live in other states, a visit to Lexington would not be complete without dining at the Merrick Inn.

    The avocado was terrible. The toast was soggy and wet, the eggs were cold, and there was arugula in the salad that was old and yucky looking. Our group ordered three of those and they were all the same. A group entered one by one and were very loud for a time but settled down. Not a good experience.

    Our latest visit to one of our favorite restaurants was even better than usual. Our attendant Sandy, was THE best ever, so kind, personable and informative. Food was a 10 as usual. Spoke with mgr Chris about entire great experience and he too was very humble and open to discuss our great evening. Yes, we'll be back!

    Greeted warmly at the desk, led to a nice quiet table, a preprandial Glencairn glass of bourbon to start off the evening! Had the fried chicken, corn and beans, scrumptious as usual! Our go-to site for a great setting and dinner!!
