   Fun waiter and attentive service. Nice truffle pasta -- a special. Good wine recommendations. A tad crowded and the ambiance could be a little cozier -- I think it's the lighting. But overall, this was a good experience at a classic Greenwich Village restaurant.

   We loved our dining experience at Monte’s!!! The place was lively and cozy. The food was delicious. Our waiter, Tony, was so perfect and fun and good. The other people dining there were fun and nice. The girl who seated us was also exceptionally wonderful. We had a great experience. We will be back!!!

   I never comment here on my restaurant visits but had to this time. I have been going to Monte's for over 40 years. Took my family there recently. I was shocked how bad the food was. My selection did not taste good. The taste, quantity and presentation were really disappointing. Shrimp Cocktail was four 1 1/2" shrimp in a terrible cocktail sauce with no horse radish in it. The Pasta portion was very small and the sauce had little flavor and was pasty. The only good thing was the wine and dessert. Dark chocolate sauce over ice cream. The service was very slow as there was only 2 waiters in a full restaurant. I am not sure what has happened to Monte's. It really saddens me to post this but it is a warning to all.

   The Veal Marsala was so very good! Service was fantastic and suggested wine pairing was perfect! I come to Monte’s every trip to NYC whenever possible. It’s a must for me!

   Good spot for dinner in the Village, but since there are so many other options, I wish we could have explored those instead. Food was somewhat bland. Service was somewhat rude. It was fine for the evening, but will not go back and probably wont recommend.

    It was pretty packed and lively, but the staff navigated the close quarters very well. They managed to serve us and get us out in time for our comedy show. Wish we could have stayed for the excellent-looking cannoli, but maybe next time.
