価格：高い•日本料理•4.7(34)Located in Calgary’s Mission neighborhood, Shokunin is led by Chef Darren MacLean and fuses Canadian ingredients with Japanese techniques. Since 2016, it has earned recognition among Canada’s Top 50 Restaurants for its modern izakaya flavors.
At its core are Yakitori and Omakase offerings, where grilled meats and seasonal ingredients shine. “Shokunin is a symphony of fat, salt, and fire,” says Chef MacLean. As Calgary’s first yakitoria, it features over 25 cuts of chicken and meat, prepared on a Japanese Robata Grill for unparalleled flavor.
The menu includes Chef MacLean’s Okami Kasu beer, brewed with sake kasu, and a curated sake selection. Seasonal produce, often from Chef MacLean’s own garden, highlights Shokunin’s dedication to local ingredients. This blend of tradition, innovation, and artistry has made it a leader in Canada’s culinary scene.

Ich hatte leider Eierschale in meinem Cornbread, was ich sofort anmerken ließ. Das Personal entschuldigte sich aufrecht bei mir und passte die Rechnung an. So etwas kann passieren und zeigt mir auch, dass das Cornbread frisch ist. Klar, es nicht schön Eierschale in seinem essen zu finden, ist allerdings angenehmer als ein Haar einer fremden Person. Die Tatsache, wie das Personal darauf reagiert hat, kann ich mir loben und schmälert keinesfalls meine Erfahrung in diesem Restaurant. Ich würde jederzeit wieder kommen. Everything tasted really good. When I asked what tea they had, I was not expecting a huge menu with so many choices. I knew of a lot of these teas so it was a pleasant surprise to have more options than just "green tea" or "black tea" in a tea bag. We went with "The Formless One" a Phoenix Oolong. This was the perfect pairing to go with the food. And it was really cool to have them prepare the tea at your table. A bit of a mini show. Our server Josh was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. He was very welcoming, took his time with us, and helped explain things when we had questions. He even opened the door and waited for us when we were leaving to say goodbye. This was the perfect dining experience for our anniversary. The servers said happy anniversary to us several times during our meal. The combination of really good food, quality tea, and service at Carino made for the perfect night out for us.
