We arrived at 4.15 and found that the restaurant was not supposed to open for service until 5pm. Bobby the barman and Josh the chef made us very welcome and opened early for us. The food was just ok, some of the group enjoyed all the courses but majority thought it was very average for the money we paid. Service was very good, servers were cheerful and obliging. We did enjoy ourselves and there was plenty to eat. Was it value for money ? We each opted for a starter, Sunday roast and a pudding and all three courses were absolutely outstanding. Never been here before but absolutely will come back again. Best roast I have had for years.
