It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. The Portuguese language could be heard amongst the staff and the flavours brought me back to Portugal. The grilled octopus was tender and it was served on a bed of sweet potato puree. The fish stew was fully loaded with seafood of all types and the seasoning was on point. We had grilled pineapple and port for dessert and it was the perfect end to our meal.
