The Nicollet Island Inn has stood witness to over a century of change on the shores of the Mississippi River. The Inn is consistently named the most romantic restaurant in the area and its river views have been voted some of the best in the city. An immediately recognizable Minneapolis landmark, the Inn offers world-class cuisine created by Executive Chef Michael Rain , whose innovative and constantly updated menu includes a variety of seafood, steaks and gourmet specialty dishes. Our wine menu has been chosen specifically to compliment the food and highlight producers from the world's leading wine regions.

Nic's bar, just off the main dining room, is a casual, old-world tavern and the patio offers stunning views of the Minneapolis skyline. The Inn is a convenient, comfortable destination for breakfast or lunch meetings while the 3 or 5-course Sunday Brunch is the perfect weekend indulgence.

    My wife and I had a wonderful time celebrating our Anniversary. We had dinner, which was phenomenal. Then we stayed overnight at the Inn, which was really lovely. Then we had Brunch again the next morning which was amazing as well! Great food, service and accommodations! I highly recommend the Inn and Restaurant!

    We went to an early dinner for our anniversary. Everything was excellent. Our table was lovely, because we were early the dining room wasn’t full so noise level was tolerable. The food was excellent. The Smokey Paloma was delicious. Our server Dan was attentive, funny, efficient. The only problem was we ate too much. All in all it was great and we talked about going back next year.

    The salmon salad is a perfect lunch (good size to share for smaller eaters), and chocolate ice cream for dessert is delicious. Ann makes one feel at home and cared for.

    We arrived  an hour early and we're welcomed and greeted kindly and actually got a table within 10 minutes. It was a wonderful way to spend the day with my mom. We can't wait to come back in the warm weather!

    We went there for a Saturday lunch and it was wonderful. Very quiet with tables of guest all spread out to keep the what little noise there was spread out. Our server was very attentive and happy to give suggestions on favorite foods. When the food came it was plentiful and delicious. Of course the Inn is lovely inside to make it a great place to eat.

    It was our 1yr "inn"aversary, and we walked over for a great lunch. Service, food, and ambiance are always amazing. The Inn is definitely our neighborhood gem. Highly recommended.

    We were very disappointed with the prefix Valentines menu. For $100 a person, before drinks/tip/tax, we were left underwhelmed with the food. And let me preface everything I’m about to write with - I recognize this is a fancy restaurant and to not expect large portions. But I’m a firm believer in restaurants finding the balance of quality and quantity. The starting course was a very thinly sliced bruschetta and each person received one piece. It was bland, with cheese and a tomato on top. The second course was a French onion soup that came in a very small quantity with two croutons and a little bit of cheese, and it was overly salty. The main course was a steak which was cooked very well, but was set on top of bland potatoes and broccolini. Dessert was the best parts and tasted very good. But you were only option was to split one piece of cake. I think the restaurants could have done a much better job finding that balance between the quantity of food and the quality of food. I honestly felt like the meal value was $60 per person maximum - and that feels generous. It’s a shame, we really enjoy the ambience of the restaurant and the location. We had a fantastic meal off the menu 10 years ago. And when we first sat at our table, the couple next to us mentioned their displeasure of the food to their waitress, and that should’ve been our indication to leave and try some of the other restaurants in town. I know the restaurant can do better and will hopefully do better! We sent an email with these thoughts and never got a response.
