Overall Opah is a wonderful restaurant - great food, wonderful staff in a lovely setting, but..... the music choices simply do not fit the ambience and aesthetic for which I ding one star. Opah is a classy place, however each time we visit for dinner we are subjected to late 70's and early 80's rock-type music. It's not blasting, but loud enough to be distracting. If you are dining at a burger or pizza joint then this genre isn't an issue. However, Opah is NOT this type of restaurant and enjoying an upscale meal while Cheap Trick, Aerosmith, The Clash, etc.. is in the background isn't always possible. Something along the lines of smooth Jazz would be more suitable in my humble opinion. Out of curiosity we inquired with our server about the music selection and we received a smirk, eye-roll and comment that a particular person on the staff handles the sound system and is reluctant to change it or listen to suggestions. Interesting attitude being in the service industry. Anyhoo, if you don't mind background tunes, then my review will be a non-issue. As I said, food and staff are fabulous (except "The Music Man").

Joey and staff were very attentive. The food was great as usual and we enjoyed a wonderful meal. This is one of our favorite places to eat.

Oprah never disappoints. We enjoyed a lovely meal. My husband had the burger and I enjoyed the crab cakes. One of our favorite restaurants.

First time eating there last night and so happy we did! Service was great, I think her name was Giselle??? But she took great care of us. Amalfi coast martini was yummy, calamari was good, maybe a little bland for us, tenderloin appetizers was really good, hubby loved it and the hazelnut halibut was good maybe a bit over cooked, but nice crunch. Restaurant is beautiful and really nice patio. Seems like a hot bar at night.

We've been spending NYE at Opah's over the last 15 or so years. It's great there; the food is wonderful (and they offer their regular menu!), service always good, and it's very convenient to the Aliso Viejo Regal 20 theater! We almost always take in a movie after dinner on NYE-never crowded and almost always home to usher in the new year watching NYC's ball drop! Our server Vanessa was wonderful; and this year we noticed how well the restaurant runs, even on a very busy night such as NYE. Great teamwork, that is evident. Thank you again Opah for another wonderful NYE for this senior couple.
