Just a few steps from the hustle and bustle of Yonge and Bloor, Bumpkin’s has been a local landmark since 1971, serving the very best in French continental cuisine with an old world Parisian feel. The newly updated two-story Victorian house has a handsomely sophisticated interior, featuring two fireplaces and a set of crystal chandeliers, that once graced the interior of the Royal York Hotel, and beautiful pieces of art throughout the restaurant. During the spring and summer months, Bumpkins offers an outdoor dining experience on their terrace, complete with a view of Norman Jewison parkette. Distinct to the menu is a selection of masterfully conceived dishes ranging from the baked garlic butter escargot bourguignon to veal chop with mushrooms to the steamed fresh P.E.I mussels.     Staff was very friendly and welcoming. This reservation was my first time here and was very satisfied with the level of service. Food was really good and drinks tasted great also. Space was smaller than expected but I guess that is also partially because off season for patio, would definitely go back and really want to go back during patio season to check out the patio vibes. Overall great experience and will for sure be going back

    In one word, impeccable. Delicious food, wonderful ambiance and highly skilled, well trained servers in black and whites. If you love French Bistro, Maison Selby knocks it out of the park! It felt like I was back in Paris.
