The Japanese film Tampopo was marketed as the world’s first “ramen western”. It’s the story of two truck drivers, Goro & Gun, who use their culinary expertise to change the fate of a struggling noodle shop. Those two characters' passion for noodle-making lives on at Calgary’s 150-seat noodle bar — led by executive chef Ryusuke Araki. Located inside Stephen Avenue Place, upstairs on the Plus 15 level, the restaurant melds modern art graphics with distinctive hardwood and right angles of Japanese decor. Tuck into a steaming bowl of ramen with our house-made noodles, made even better with an aji-tama egg. Or depart from noodle fare with house specialities like tuna poke or pork steam buns. We kindly ask that, during peak periods, our guests limit their visit with us to 90 minutes from the start time of their reservation. Our Afternoon Tea Experience is available by reservation only at $40/person, and we ask that all reservations are made at least 24 hours in advance.
